Fancy Words~ A Free Verse Poem for a Contest

Imagery is nice and so are, 

Words that are long and fancy, 

But sometimes I feel as if, 

I see it too much on deviantART, 

And that the meaning gets lost, 

Because I have to use google translate, 

Every. Single. Time. 

And I have to know old english, 

Cause apparently it's smart peoples speak. 

Sometimes sentences appear backwards, 

And sometimes it's all just mixed and matched 

"Time slipped away as the golden, vibrant sunlight touched 

the copse. It illuminated my chalice of elixir." 

Like what did I just read? Nice to know I guess. 

I'm not writing this for an english teacher, 

Or a queen or princess or prince, 

I'm writing this for the people I want to affect. 

The news says this is how teens became less smart, 

I disagree because, 

How can we be less smart if everyone, 

Understands what we say?
